    Troubleshooting: calendar invites not sending or updating

    Calendar invites are sent automatically when an event is approved. If invites aren't arriving or aren't updating correctly, here's how to troubleshoot.


    Invites never sent after event approval

    Check 1: Is your calendar integration connected?

    Calendar invites only send if a calendar integration is active. Go to Settings → Integrations and confirm the calendar account is connected. If it shows as disconnected or missing, reconnect it (or ask your IT admin to reconnect it for you) and re-approve the event to trigger a fresh invite send.

    Check 2: Was the event actually approved?

    Invites are sent at the moment of approval, not when the event is created or submitted. Confirm the event status is Approved (not Draft, Pending, or Update Requested).


    Invites not updated after editing an event

    When you edit an approved event, Chezie gives you the option to notify attendees or not.

    If attendees weren't notified after an edit:

    1. Open the event.
    2. Make any small change (even a minor description tweak).
    3. Click Update.
    4. On the update confirmation screen, make sure the "Notify attendees" option is selected.
    5. Save the update.

    💡 If you save without notifying, the event details are updated in Chezie but the calendar invites for existing attendees are not updated. You'll need to re-save with notifications on to push the update.


    Announcement email vs. calendar invite

    Chezie sends two types of communications when an event is approved:

    • Announcement email — a one-time email informing members about the event
    • Calendar invite — a calendar event sent to invitees so it appears in their calendar

    These are separate. Getting one doesn't guarantee the other. If members say they didn't receive a calendar invite but got the announcement, check your calendar integration status.
