Why do we need to set up SCIM and SAML?

In Chezie, SCIM and SAML are two separate applications with different uses.

1. SAML allows users to log in to Chezie. During the login process, we capture the person's email.

2. SCIM provisions users so we have the attributes we need from your directory (job title, department, office, etc.).

In Chezie, there are user records and employee records.

• User records are created only when someone logs in - only employees who have logged into Chezie have a user record

• Employee records are created via the SCIM integration - every employee at your company has an employee record in Chezie

When an employee logs in via SAML, our system uses the email captured through SAML to link their user record to the employee record already in our database.
