How to use your company’s Host Key in a Zoom meeting
What is a Zoom Host Key?
A Zoom host key is a 6-digit code that allows a participant to claim host control in a Zoom meeting.
Using the host key gives group leaders access to advanced Zoom features like:

Managing participants

Controlling screen sharing

Starting and ending the meeting

Managing breakout roomsERG leaders can now use the host key for any meetings they create, allowing them to take host control, enable breakout rooms, create webinars, and more—while still benefiting from automatic attendance tracking.
To use the host key:

Join the meeting: Begin by joining the Zoom meeting you need to control.

Access Participants panel: In the meeting controls at the bottom of the screen, click the “Participants” icon.

Claim Host: At the bottom of the Participants panel, you’ll see “Claim Host”. Click on this option.

Enter Host Key: A window will pop up asking for your host key. Enter the 6-digit code.

Claim Host: Click “Claim Host” to verify the key and gain host privileges.
How to view and customize your host key
You can edit and enter your preferred 6-digit host key. This host key is applied to meetings you schedule.
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation panel, click Profile.
- Scroll down to the Meeting section.
- Select the eye icon next to your Host Key to view your current 6-digit pin.
- Click Edit.
- Input the new host key desired and click Save.
The Zoom Host Key remains static across all events. This will not change unless updated within the service account’s Zoom settings.
How to Access the Recording
To get access to the recording, the leads would need to:

Join the zoom meeting

Enter the host key

Take host control
-
Click the Record button and choose to record to your computer
After the call, the lead will have access to the recording.
