How to use your company’s Host Key in a Zoom meeting

ERG leaders can now copy the host key for any meetings they create, allowing them to take host control, enable breakout rooms, create webinars, and more—while still benefiting from automatic attendance tracking.

To use the host key:

  1. Join the meeting: Begin by joining the Zoom meeting you need to control.

  2. Access Participants panel: In the meeting controls at the bottom of the screen, click the “Participants” icon.

  3. Claim Host: At the bottom of the Participants panel, you’ll see “Claim Host”. Click on this option.

  4. Enter Host Key: A window will pop up asking for your host key. Enter the 6-digit code.

  5. Claim Host: Click “Claim Host” to verify the key and gain host privileges.
